Artificial intelligence is one of the most powerful technologies humanity has ever built. It's also, right now, one of the most wasteful.
A single query to GPT-4o uses approximately 2.90 kWh per 1,000 queries. At global scale, that's an enormous amount of electricity — drawn primarily from grids still heavily dependent on fossil fuels, cooled by data centres drinking billions of litres of water.
We think this is solvable. Not with offsets. Not with PR. With better architecture.
Introducing EcoKure
EcoKure is an ecosystem of next-generation AI platforms. Every product we build is grounded in two principles:
- Intelligence should be available to everyone — not just organisations with cloud budgets measured in millions
- Intelligence shouldn't cost the planet — a query answered shouldn't mean a gramme of CO₂ released
Our first product, Jarvi3 AI, is live at jvi3.com.
The Numbers
Jarvi3 uses 0.11 kWh per 1,000 queries. GPT-4o uses 2.90 kWh. That's a 96.2% reduction.
At the scale of 1 billion queries per year — which is a conservative estimate for enterprise AI usage — the difference is:
- 2,790 MWh of electricity saved
- 1,116 tonnes of CO₂ not emitted
- 5,020 kilolitres of water not consumed
That's 930 homes powered for a year. 242 cars removed from the road. Two Olympic swimming pools kept full.
These aren't future projections. This is what running Jarvi3 instead of GPT-4o delivers today.
How It Works
The efficiency comes from our Deterministic Taxonomy GLM architecture. Where conventional LLMs fire their entire parameter count at every query, Jarvi3 routes each task to the optimal specialist — a maths brain for mathematical reasoning, a code brain for software tasks, a retrieval lane for known-answer queries.
Smaller inputs. Correct outputs. A fraction of the energy.
What's Coming
Jarvi3 is the first product. The EcoKure ecosystem will expand to include:
- EcoKure Core (Q3 2025) — real-time environmental intelligence platform
- Signal Intelligence (Q4 2025) — pattern recognition across global data streams
- EcoKure OS (2026) — unified operating system for sustainable enterprise
Each platform plugs into the others. The value compounds.
